Optimal packet length for AAL2 packet voice system without bit dropping

摘要: 該文根據(jù)分組話音業(yè)務(wù)的特點(diǎn),結(jié)合分組話音業(yè)務(wù)服務(wù)質(zhì)量要求,特別是分組丟棄概率和端到端分組傳送時(shí)延的要求,研究AAL2分組話音系統(tǒng)中AAL2分組最優(yōu)長(zhǎng)度的確定方法,得出結(jié)論:對(duì)于無(wú)比特丟棄的AAL2分組話音系統(tǒng),當(dāng)話音采用32kb/s的編碼時(shí),AAL2分組的最優(yōu)長(zhǎng)度大約為31個(gè)字節(jié);當(dāng)話音采用16kb/s的編碼時(shí),AAL2分組的最優(yōu)長(zhǎng)度大約為27個(gè)字節(jié)。此時(shí)AAL2分組的分組頭開(kāi)銷(xiāo)小,話音分組的丟棄概率和端到端分組傳送時(shí)延低,所得的分組話音質(zhì)量高。

Abstract: This paper investigates the optimal packet length for AAL2 packet voice system without bit dropping, which takes into consideration the features and quality of service of AAL2 packet voice. A conclusion is drawn that the optimal packet length is about 31byte for the case of 32kb/s encoded voice when AAL2 packet voice multiplexer without bit dropping is concerned. As far as 16kb/s encoded voice is concerned, the optimal packet length is about 27 byte. Under this condition, good voice quality can be achieved with small packet overhead. -
